IconPro GmbH created as new Spin-off of WZL
A new spin-off of the Laboratory for Machine Tools and Production Engineering (WZL) of the RWTH Aachen has emerged from the Chair of Production Metrology and Quality Management of Prof. Dr.-Ing Robert Schmitt – the IconPro GmbH. Prof. Schmitt accompanies the fortunes of the newly founded company together with his chief engineer, Dr.-Ing. Martin Peterek, as scientific advisor.
The two managing directors of the IconPro GmbH are Dr.-Ing. Edgar Dietrich, former founder and managing director of Q-DAS GmbH & Co. KG, and Markus Ohlenforst, former head of the Large Scale Metrology Group at the Chair of Production Metrology and Quality Management.
The start-up focuses on the development and application of process mining software for the analysis and correlation of production process and quality data through machine learning. Customers benefit from increased quality and productivity by identifying and utilizing potential for optimization and avoiding bottlenecks in their production and inspection processes. Production process data is extracted from ERP, MES or SPC systems and analyzed and correlated using machine learning algorithms. The entire process can be fully automated and visualized in the form of dashboards. In addition, IconPro GmbH also offers individual consulting projects and workshops on the topics of "Production Process Mining" and "Artificial Intelligence in Quality Management".
