The location of the start-up factory “Anlauffabrik” on the RWTH Aachen campus favours the cooperation and networking of industry and science. The Anlauffabrik offers industrial companies a leasable infrastructure and a platform for exchange and cooperation to allow successful economic cooperations to develop. Under the roof of the Laboratory for Machine Tools and Production Engineering (WZL) of RWTH Aachen University, the Anlauffabrik benefits from its many years of industrial experience and production focus. The Anlauffabrik focuses on cost-effective and flexible producibility in order to reduce start-up and industrialisation times and the associated costs.

The provision of technical equipment and systems in the Anlauffabrik offers small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) the opportunity to examine their production processes and components with regard to feasibility and suitability for series production. Prototypes in the form of vehicles and machines can also be built and validated in the Anlauffabrik.

The machinery of the Anlauffabrik includes machines and equipment for individual manufacturing processes, such as thermoforming, milling, bending, additive manufacturing and laser welding, as well as assembly lines and validation possibilities on test benches.

3D Printer miniFactory Ultra

The latest acquisition is a miniFactory Ultra, a filament 3D printer for the direct production of components made of high-performance plastics. The focus is on enabling agile hardware development through additive manufacturing, such as medical technology components made of PEEK. Further applications include structural components made of PEI and PEKK in vehicle construction and the manufacture of tools and moulds.

In addition, a comprehensive overview of the machine park including technical specifications of the Anlauffabrik is listed on the website www.anlauffabrik-aachen.de/en.

If you are interested, we would be pleased to present the Anlauffabrik to you personally during a guided tour, advise you on the possible applications to suit your requirements and work out concrete project ideas with you.
