Exzellenzcluster – Internet of Production B2.I, Production Data Aggregation and Sensors Project Team A: Connected Job Shop

The Internet of Production - IoP - is based on the vision to enable a new level of cross-domain collaboration by providing semantically adequate and contextual data from production, development and usage in real time and adapted granularity. The central scientific approach for this is the digital shadow as application-specific aggregated and multi-perspective data sets. In the Cluster of Excellence, a conceptual reference infrastructure will be designed and implemented to enable the generation and use of the digital shadow.

In the course of digitization and networking, large amounts of data are generated in the production environment along the product creation process without context reference. Due to the multitude of production processes, there is a high heterogeneity of available data, data formats and exchange protocols. The part of the Chair of Machine Tools focuses on the systematic collection, aggregation and processing of machine-internal and -external process data. Reliable and continuous recording of high-frequency data is the most important prerequisite for further data-based applications.
