The aim of the research project is to provide machine tool development with methods for predicting the effects of structural modifications on the dynamic behaviour of machines on the basis of experimental data. For this purpose, the existing methods of experimental substructure coupling will be modified for use on typical machine tool components. Suitable measuring equipment and strategies are developed and verified on the basis of test bench experiments. The measurement and evaluation algorithms are implemented in software. Finally, the developed measurement methodology will be applied in an application part to predict the dynamic TCP compliance - expressed as frequency response or FRF - and the vibration modes for typical structural modifications.
