All beginnings are difficult. This also applies to the start of series production of electromobile vehicles: little experience and highly complex processes present engineers with ever new challenges. In the start-up factory, developers, producers and suppliers of electric vehicles find the ideal environment to put their ideas into series production.

Building on the research results of the Laboratory for Machine Tools and Production Engineering (WZL) of RWTH Aachen University, the focus in the start-up factory is on producibility. Under series-like conditions, we put production processes to the test and realize the mass product capability of individual components or vehicles. In this way, we can guarantee you reliable start-ups with high quality and shorter start-up times. Your production starts with a larger start-up volume and reduced unit costs.

A series-like environment can be created through our wide range of systems and the illustration of the entire production process. Embedded in the RWTH Campus Melaten as well as the production technology cluster in particular, since the end of 2013 on a total area of 2100m² from the 3D printer, laser welding cell, bending machine and portal milling machine to the framing station, chassis dynamometer and assembly lines, all systems required for the production of corresponding electric vehicle components or an entire electric vehicle can be found.
