Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence in Manufacturing Technology
New basic seminars from the Chair of Manufacturing Technology
In cooperation with the WZL Aachen GmbH, the Chair of Manufacturing Technology at WZL provides interested experts from industry with theoretical knowledge and practical knowledge in the fields of cutting technology, grinding technology, centerless grinding technology, forming technology, EDM and electrochemical machining as well as fine blanking within the framework of basic seminars.
New in the canon is the introductory seminar "Digitalization and artificial intelligence in manufacturing technology". Participants will receive an overview of the digitalization of manufacturing processes through appropriate sensor technology, the acquisition of information through artificial intelligence and machine learning as well as the potential of block chain and distributed ledger technology. Practical exercises and demonstrations are used to deepen what has been learnt through concrete application cases. The seminar provides tried and tested answers to the frequently asked questions: How does digitalization work in my company? How do I network new or existing machines? How do I use artificial intelligence and machine learning? What is block chain, 5G, or an IoT platform?
The basic seminars offer an introduction to various technologies and give an overview of the numerous processes and their basics. In order to facilitate the access to the topic, they are divided into different lectures, which are deepened by experimental demonstrations on test benches as well as practice-oriented case studies.
Target groups of the seminar series are users of the respective technologies, machine operators, supervisors as well as employees from production planning, manufacturing, service and sales. The speakers are members of the individual research groups at the WZL. In numerous industrial projects and working groups, they accompany companies in the process selection and optimization of existing processes.
