The digital transformation demands the middle class. "Digital in NRW - Competence for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises" is preparing the topics of digitization and networking specifically for small and medium-sized enterprises in North Rhine-Westphalia and across state borders and is offering free and practice-oriented services for joint implementation. Whether information to industry 4,0 topics or the conversion of concrete technologies: We enable you to get closer to industry 4.0 - no matter what level of digitization your products and processes are at.

There is no silver bullet for digitization and networking. Nevertheless, there are already a large number of industry 4.0 solutions in implementation and "hands-on" use, which small and medium-sized enterprises can use as orientation. The competence center bundles its practical examples from demonstration centers as well as transfer and implementation projects according to topic focus and prepares them specifically for companies in its industry 4.0 routes. In the Smart Automation Lab, the Laboratory for Machine Tools and Production Engineering (WZL) at RWTH Aachen University addresses numerous aspects of industry 4.0 that enable individualized production in a highly heterogeneous system. The focus is equally on mapping the conventional automation pyramid and on designing and validating new control paradigms for future production systems.
