The project is concerned with the question of how a key performance indicator system tailored to the needs of the workers can contribute to an increase in performance on the shop floor level. Within the framework of the project, an integrating and motivational key performance indicator system will be developed which will enable small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to digitally record performance at the shop floor level and to optimize it in a targeted manner. The overall goal of the project is to positively influence performance on the shop floor by processing key figures in a way that is appropriate for the workers.

The preparation of key figures comprises the targeted selection of key figures (key figure system), their visualisation and linking with playful approaches to increase the motivation of the worker (gamification). Subsequently, the key performance indicator system and the gamification approach are validated by students and employees of the shop floor level with the help of the Koblenz model factory. Finally, an MES module is programmed to make it easier for companies to implement the research results.
