Basic Seminar High-speed Shaft Bearing Systems

Tuesday, September 29 to Wednesday, September 30, 2020

Rolling bearings are an essential component of high-speed shaft bearing systems and play a decisive role in determining the performance of the application. Due to the high speeds, special requirements are placed on the bearings and their design. Bearing selection, preload, bearing arrangement as well as lubrication and sealing are issues that developers and designers are confronted with.

The seminar offers an introduction to the basic bearing techniques as well as the design and calculation of rolling bearings for use in high-speed shaft bearing systems. In addition to the explanations on the bearing arrangements and the thermal behaviour of the bearings, the static and dynamic behaviour of the bearings is also considered. The seminar is rounded off by practical calculations of exemplary shaft bearing systems in the high speed range as well as the consideration of bearing service life.

The aim of the seminar is to impart practical knowledge for the application of rolling bearings in high-speed shaft bearing systems.
