3D Metrology Conference 2023
One of the most important conferences in the field of industrial metrology will be held this year in the metropolitan region of Bilbao from September 26 to 28.Copyright: © WZL 3DMC Organizing Committee
For the eighth time, 3DMC is organized by WZL of RWTH Aachen University in cooperation with National Physical Laboratory (NPL), University College London (UCL), Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB) and, in this year, with the two Spanish partners Tekniker and IDEKO. After successful editions in Aachen, Hamburg and London, the conference now travels to the high-tech region of the Basque Country.
At 3DMC, up to 200 industrial users and academically renowned experts exchange ideas and shape the innovative and open character of the event. This is also reflected in 3DMC's versatile program: Top-class lectures are paired with an open industry exhibition, special interest sessions and dedicated networking formats. Prof. Ben Hughes and Prof. Robert Schmitt will preside and chair the event, respectively.
The conference will focus on metrology as an innovation driver in automation and quality assurance. Industrial end users will provide insights into successful use cases from various sectors, such as automotive engineering, aviation and the energy industry. In addition, internationally leading scientists will present advances in metrology itself, which will enable new applications. 3D data and machine vision form the DNA of the conference and are complemented by other technologies, e.g. from the fields of digitalization and artificial intelligence.
With two strong partners on site, 3DMC offers the unique opportunity to get to know leading technology drivers and their forward looking research facilities up close: For the first time, the industry exhibition will be spread over two presentation venues during the two conference days, giving participants and exhibitors the opportunity to enter into a creative dialog with each other in various extraordinary settings, to present innovative use cases live and to cultivate their own network within the community. 3DMC, thus, combines the advantages of a trade fair, a production technology laboratory and an expert forum in a single event.
Selected presentations can also be published as an associated peer-reviewed article in the open access journal Metrology [https://www.mdpi.com/journal/metrology] that further reinforces the sustainable scientific excellence of the conference.
Participation is possible as a delegate, presenter, or exhibitor. Further information is available at https://www.3dmc.events or directly from the contact persons listed below.
The conference language is English.
