Field of Research
In many companies the dry cutting technology is state of the art. It enables to decrease the manufacturing costs and the environmental strain, which arises from handling and processing the lubricoolant, while keeping the productivity, part quality and process stability at a constant level. In the tooling technology, the trend towards dry cutting processes yielded a significant innovative thrust. Today, for many processes, suitable cutting tools are technology data is available for dry cutting. In many projects funded by the BMBF, the EU and the AiF, the scientific Know-How for the practical implementation of this high performance technology is developed in close cooperation with the partners from the industry.
