Gear NVH


The reduction of the NVH of gearboxes is a essential design requirement criterion for the development of future drive trains. The research group “ Gearbox NVH” deals intensively with the excitation behavior in tooth contact and the system behavior of drive trains. The influence of manufacturing-related properties on gearbox NVH and system behavior is the focus. The experimental as well as the simulative investigation of the acoustic behavior and the optimization of the gear geometry form the core of the activities of the research group “Gearbox NVH”. System test benches and measuring cells for spur and bevel gear pairings, planetary gears and alternative gears, e.g. beveloid gears, are available for the investigation of the NVH of gears. Specially developed FE-based tooth contact analyses and a dynamic simulation are available for the simulative investigation. In order to meet future requirements, existing test bench concepts are continuously further developed for the requirements of future drive trains (e.g. high speed applications in e-mobility).
