Intelligently Networked Systems

In-firm logistics in the mass production is increasingly characterized by a rising number of variants, removing buffer sizes and the trend for the "lot size one". Neither classical demand-oriented supply concepts nor Kanban-Systems lead in this environment to an efficient and safe logistic processes. On the other hand an event-driven planning and control system based on the Multi-Agent Theory promises to be a considerable approach to solve this problem. For that purpose the WZL and its partners develop separate solution contributions for a joint implementation in practice.
