Gear Shaping

Gear Shaping

Gear Shaping is applied mostly in the cases where gear hobbing cannot be used. Especially for cutting internal gears and external parallel axes gears with shoulders that do not allow gear hobbing for tool collision reasons shaping is applied.
Another field of application is gear manufacturing in low lot volume, since the purchase cost of gear shaping tools are significantly lower than the prices of hobs. The gear manufacturing team has therefore done research in this area and has completed numerous projects with the focus on cutting material and coating choice as well as dry machining and face gear cutting.
