Main purpose of this project is the consideration of manufacturing and cross section limitations in structural optimization by geometrical constraints. Due to the geometry-based approach, the optimized CAD-model can be directly used in the subsequent stages of the design process. Shapes are represented by splines, which are varied by their interpolation points, tangents and weightings. In addition, further optimization parameters such as component dimensions can be defined. Even a limited change of the topology is possible by discrete parameters, in order to vary the number of breakouts or ribs. |
