Research Area
Energy and Ressource Efficient Production

In the conflict area of growing world population and limited access to resources, the importance of efficient energy and resource use grows. For an isolation of resource use from economic growth orientation of a resource-efficient production is essential. For companies it is therefore of vital importance, to reflect their production processes holistically and to analyze and improve them. The potential for energy and resource efficiency in production machining there is, but the needed data in the mechanical manufacturing is so far largely unknown. The staff of this research area develops concepts for the sustainable production.

Main topics:

  • Lif Cycle Assessment in respect to DIN ISO 14040/44
  • Sustainable Production
  • Comprehensive mapping of energy and material flow
